Meet our Pigs

Cynthia, our breeding sow, is an 'Oxford Sandy & Black'which is the breed we specialise in.
We also keep Saddlebacks, Gloucester Old Spots and Berkshires.
These are all traditional breeds either bred by us or bought in as weaners for us to raise.
The traditional breeds are excellent to keep as they are naturally hardy and more suited to outdoor rearing. They cope really well with all weathers and happily forage all year round in the field.
They are also excellent mothers and are very sociable.
Cynthia likes nothing more than lying on her side having her tummy tickled! Especially when she is 'in pig'.
Equally as important is the fact that Traditional Breeds produce the best tasting pork in the world.
All our pigs live in family groups and are free to forage, root about and wallow in the mud.
Our piglets aren't weaned until they are about 8 weeks old and they all keep their teeth & tails unlike commercially reared ones!!
They are all fed with GM free food and grow naturally, taking at least 7 months to reach slaughter weight. We then take them to a small, family run slaughter house where they are treated well with minimum stress because we believe that the welfare of the pig is paramount right up to the end.
